I'm in town from St Louis MO and I was pleasantly surprised by all of the kind and helpful employees at this has/convenience store ESPECIALLY an incredibly kind young man named Casey. We had a small problem with the smoothie machine, which he not only took care of, he gave the smoothies, that did work, to us at no cost. It was definitely unexpected and he did it all with a smile and kind words as well. Thanks so much for the nice experience! Stop by and tell Casey great job!

Awesome Kwik Star here in Ames, IA. This is very conveniently located off Hwy 30 and easy to navigate. The store was very clean, both externally and internally. This is the first Kwik Star (Kwik Trip) property I’ve seen that has self checkout (card only though). The store inside was very clean and organized. I grabbed a Colombian Coffee (16oz, plain), a 6pk of Chocolate Dunkers, & a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich. The total after tax was 9.12. The staff, unlike most other Kwik Stars (Kwik Trips), were very friendly and polite. They were also very surprised to hear about the company’s new rounding down for cash transactions. The rounding down is due to the ending of the production of pennies. They will event round down to nearest 5 cents. I hope this Kwik Star keeps up their hard work & continues to be a great stop for travelers in the future.-Shy_Gun670

I truly hope someone at corporate takes a moment to read this, because I want you to know just how much I genuinely enjoy shopping at your stores. Every time I walk into a Kwik Star, it’s like stepping into a place of comfort and reliability — a rare feeling these days. From the spotless aisles to the warm smiles of your employees, you’ve created something special that feels less like a convenience store and more like a home away from home. I honestly prefer to do my grocery shopping at your locations over any big-box chain. The quality, the freshness, and the thought you put into every detail — from your dairy section to your ready-to-eat meals — make it clear that you care about your customers. It’s a simple kind of excellence that speaks volumes. My only disappointment is that your stores aren’t available down south — in Oklahoma, Georgia, and other areas I often travel to. As someone who moves around a lot, I find myself missing Kwik Star every time I’m away. There’s a sense of nostalgia and comfort tied to your brand that no other store quite captures. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I visit — full of wonder, excitement, and appreciation. I sincerely hope you’ll consider expanding into the southern and southeastern regions. There are countless people who would appreciate what you’ve built just as much as I do. My favorite gas station. I love that I can get things like ground beef, tortillas, buns, onions, and some fruit here when I get off late after work and nothing else is open

There are 8 Tesla Super Chargers at this Kwik Star. They are new as of December 2023. These chargers will not only charge Tesla's. They will charge other EV's with DC Fast CCS charge ports too. It is just a short walk from the chargers to the store. The area is well lit and there are security cameras. There are hotels within walking distance if you want to get some rest.

Great stop off interstate, clean restrooms, relatively low gas price. This location carries extensive selection of drinks, snacks, and even full meal options, along with an entire isle dedicated to coffee.

Every truckstop could learn something from this KwikStar. Automated air compressor at each fuel island bay. Actually filled my tires up, and kicked off when preset psi was reached. Very handy. Large assortment of food items inside the store, and friendly staff.
